Technical Association of the Pulp & Paper Industry (TAPPI)

TAPPI is a worldwide professional society dedicated to advancing technology and professional achievement in the paper and related industries.  Founded in 1915, TAPPI has grown into the world's largest professional association serving the paper and related industries. TAPPI's 30,000 individual members look to the association for information, education, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.

American Forest and Paper Association (AF&PA)

American Forest and Paper Association (AF&PA) is the national trade association of the forest, paper and wood products industry. It represents member companies engaged in growing, harvesting and processing wood and wood fiber, manufacturing pulp, paper and paperboard products form both virgin and recycled fiber, and producing engineered and traditional wood products.


National Council for Air & Stream Improvement (NCASI)

NCASI has been an environmental resource for the forest products industry since 1943. Its mission is to address, through a highly focused research program, the environmental information needs of the forest products industry.  Its research program is primarily funded by its member companies, which collectively produce over 95% of the pulp and paper and a sizeable fraction of the wood products manufactured in the United States.

Cole Library Industry Data Finder

The Robert L. and Sara Marcy Cole Library was named September 10, 1997 in recognition of a gift from the estate of Robert L. Cole, third president of the institution (1985-1986). President Cole, who had thirty years of experience as a senior corporate executive in high-technology companies, was noted for cultivating a closer working relationship with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The Cole Library has a specialized collection of books, journals and electronic subscriptions in Computer Science, Engineering, and Business Management. The collection includes publications from business and professional groups such as the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Conference Board and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
